Dr Manjiri Joshi

Dr. Manjiri Joshi began her artistic journey after discovering Encaustic, an ancient art form that involves "burning in" wax and pigments, a technique once used by the Greeks to create enduring artwork. Her abstract pieces personify nature, reflecting human emotions through vivid colors and varied textures. This medium offers her the freedom to explore creativity without boundaries, using heated tools to manipulate wax in innovative ways. Currently, she experiments with making her own wax colors and applying them to different surfaces. For her, the sensory experience of touching the layers of beeswax, hearing the sounds, and feeling the textures is an essential part of the creative process.
